The building housing the Therapeutic Clinics of the Medical Faculty of Kharkiv University was built in the late 19th century, presumably based on a design by architect Viktor Velichko. The building’s current address is Nezalezhnosti Avenue, 11.

It was one of the oldest buildings in this part of the city and was part of the Clinical Campus complex. Kharkiv University was involved in the construction of its buildings, which served as the practical training base for the medical school. The building also housed a clinic for neurological disorders.

In the 1990s, the building was in very poor condition, and it was eventually transferred to the Court of Appeals. During the renovation, which lasted 10 years, it underwent extensive reconstruction and an addition was built, but it generally retained its architectural style.
