It was originally part of the complex of buildings belonging to G. S. Ponizovsky’s trading and manufacturing partnership and was built around the early 1910s. The architect is unknown, but some researchers suggest it was M. Roitenberg.

During World War I, military uniforms were sewn here. In 1922, the factory was named after the revolutionary Yefim Tinyakov; known as the “Tinyakovka,” it was one of the largest garment factories in the Ukrainian SSR.

The renovation of the building, as shown in the photographs, was carried out to convert it into office space EVOhub, with only minor changes to the exterior of the facade (the window frames were simplified and verandas were added to the attic floor). The pre-WWI tiles on the facade were preserved. A mural by Roman Minin was also preserved.

The building’s facade and windows sustained repeated damage as a result of Russian shelling of Kharkiv in 2022, 2024, and 2025.
