Another architectural landmark in Kharkiv, the National Scientific Centre ‘Institute of Experimental and Clinical Veterinary Medicine’ of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, was damaged in a Russian air strike on 30 April 2024.

The building was constructed in 1926 (according to other sources, in 1928) to a design by O. Molokin and G. Ikonnikov for the Research Institute of Experimental Veterinary Medicine.

Its current address is Hryhoriia Skovorody Street, 83.
.

The building features eclectic elements of Ukrainian Art Deco (such as hexagonal and trapezoidal windows) and Constructivist architecture.

Also worth noting is the original bas-relief inscription in Ukrainian bearing the name of the Research Institute, executed in an original constructivist typeface.

According to the monitoring group HeMo: Ukrainian Heritage Monitoring Lab, the Russian strike caused significant damage to the building’s glazing, roof and interior. The institute’s annex, built around 1930 in the Constructivist style, was also damaged.
