In 2019, city council members granted permission to develop a land-use plan for the construction of apartment buildings at Chernyshevska Street, 81 and 83.

Trees have already been cut down on the site; trucks are hauling away debris and preparing the house for demolition.

Although, judging by satellite images, House No. 83 has been without a roof since 2000, it was partially dismantled sometime around 2013.

The buildings were not designated as architectural landmarks and were built approximately at the end of the 19th century; however, even that status does little to save them from demolition in Kharkiv.
