According to research by architect Oleksandr Leibfreid, the Art Nouveau apartment block on Teatralnyi Lane, 5 was built in 1904 by M. Dykansky and was known as the Nemirovsky apartment block.

As we have written on numerous occasions, Moses Dykansky owned a building firm that constructed houses, but formally he was not an architect, so it is not entirely correct to refer to him as such.

Some researchers claim that the building was constructed in the 1910s to a design by Oleksandr Rzhepishevskyi.

In 2020, a glazed balcony was added to the building, which marred the façade.

As a result of the Russian missile strike on 6 October 2023, the building on Teatral’nyi Lane, 5 lost its windows and its façade was damaged by debris.
