This Art Nouveau house at Podilskyj Lane, listed as a architectural landmark, was built in 1913 by architect V. I. Berrov.

During the Soviet era, this street was called Gamarika; in the interwar period, it was known as Jean Marat Street. According to the 1909 list of property owners, the eleventh plot on Podilskyj Lane was owned by the burgher Mikhail Vasilyevich Trunin.
