The complex of former pharmacy warehouses at Katsars’ka Street, 20 and Yaroslavska Street, 5 is an architectural landmark.

Its reconstruction was carried out according to a project in the Art Nouveau style by Oleksandr Rzhepishevskyi in 1912.

But the buildings themselves are much older.

Although the exact years of construction are unknown, architect Fedor Danilov (1810–1885) lived in one of them.

Katsars’ka or Kotsars’ka Street? Let us remind you that on most maps and regulatory documents of the 19th century, as well as in the list of homeowners of 1909, the street is called KATsars’ka. It is also called KATsars’ka on the latest edition of the signs on the walls of houses, Google maps, and the list of architectural monuments of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of Kharkiv. However, the original name of the street was KOtsarska (in honor of the traditional Sloboda Ukraine kots carpet), it is KOtsars’ka according to the register of urbanonyms approved by the Kharkiv City Council on 25/12/2002, although in many later official documents the street continues to be called KAtsars’ka.
