An architectural landmark, this mid-19th-century building at Kulykivska Street, 19 had been abandoned until recently. In 2020, the building underwent renovation, during which an attic was added, a floor was built onto the right-hand wing, the window frames were removed, and the stucco work was slightly simplified.

Nevertheless, it is worth noting the new balcony, which is an exact replica of the original.

According to research by A. Paramonov, the house was built in the mid-19th century by Charlotte Hildebrandt, the wife of Gottfried Hildebrandt, one of the most active members of the German Lutheran community in Kharkiv.

In 1913, the building was renovated according to a design by B. Gershkovich.

The last owner of the building before the 1917 Revolution was Yakov Buras—the son of Pesach Buras, a well-known owner of a tobacco factory and tobacco business in Kharkiv.

The building currently houses the “Kulikovsky” Hotel.
