Slyusarnyi Lane, 10

According to the list of architectural landmarks in Kharkiv, the house at Slyusarnyi Lane, 10 was built in 1900. According to the 1909 list of property owners, the house belonged to Andrei Vasilyevich Labinsky, a collegiate assessor.

The missing section of the glazing bars on that beautiful window in the building’s staircase might seem like a perfectionist’s nightmare, but the window looks much better this way than those generic modern versions made from plastic.

There isn’t a enlarged balcony here, as it was common in Kharkiv in the 1990s; the facade’s stucco is in more or less decent condition, and even a simple cosmetic renovation with a fresh paint would transform this house.
