The small two-story building located at 37 Heroes of Kharkiv Avenue may seem rather unremarkable next to the imposing architectural landmark of national significance across the street—the former First Gymnasium for boys.

Nevertheless, this building is also an architectural landmark, albeit one of local significance.

It was built in 1896 according to a design by architect G. Strizhevsky as a vocational school, in the Neo-Renaissance style.

The school building can be seen on a craft guild certificate issued in 1913 by the Kharkiv General Craft Guild, which was located nearby, on the corner of Dvoryanskaya Street (now Chigirina Street). The engraving shows that the craft guild’s school had two grades.

Until recently, the building housed Dental Clinic No. 6.

On July 11, 2025, a Russian-made Shahed-136 drone struck the clinic. The rear section of the building was partially destroyed.
