The oldest building on Constitution Square is at number 12. It was built in 1847, according to the design of architect F. Danilov. The 4-story building stood out strongly against the background of the low-rise buildings of the square. Initially, it was built as a house of clergy of a Dormition Cathedral – parish, clergymen and their families were to live here, and shops were located on the first floor.

However, the house turned out to be too small for these purposes, so the clergy rented out apartments to ordinary people.

In 1900, the house was reconstructed according to the design of architects Bolesław Michałowski and Mikhail Lovtsov, adding a more modern and lush decor for that time, a bay window, and balconies.

The building was damaged in a Russian missile strike on March 2, 2022.
