A letter from Prof. Krasnov, former editor of *Yuzhny Krai*.
Professor Krasnov, the former editor of the Kharkiv-based newspaper *Yuzhny Krai*, wrote a letter to State Duma Deputy Obraztsov in which he states: While he was in Pyatigorsk, *Yuzhny Krai* published a report alleging an upcoming investigation into the involvement of Deputies Gololobov and Obraztsov in the murder of Yekaterinoslav Deputy Dr. Karavaev.
Prof. Krasnov states that if he had been in Kharkiv at the time, he would never have allowed such a report to be published.
Aware of Krasnov’s clear lack of involvement in the publication of this news item, Representative Gololobov has already declined to bring charges against Krasnov; in light of this, Krasnov respectfully requests that Representative Obraztsov also withdraw the charges brought against him, against Krasnov.
In his reply, Obradtsov stated that he was dropping the case against Krasnov.
The deputy’s letter concludes with a complaint that he had been forced to endure falsehoods in the press for four years and that what grieved him most was the realization that, along with the ignorant Social Democrats, representatives of the Russian intelligentsia had succumbed to the influence of the pro-Jewish press.Obratsov is pleased to note the impending sobering up and liberation from the Jewish plan, specifically as embodied by Prof. Krasnov.

At the Finance Committee. A meeting of the Finance Committee was held yesterday evening. It was decided to recommend that the City Duma lower the interest rate from 24 to 19 on pawn loans at the city pawnshop for essential items valued at no more than 10 rubles. Given the current number of pawned items, such a reduction in the interest rate would decrease the pawnshop’s revenue by approximately 7,000 rubles; however, an increase in the number of pawned items is to be expected, and under such conditions, of course, there will be no decrease in the pawnshop’s revenue.

Iliodor’s Letter About Rasputin.
The following letter from Hieromonk Iliodor to A. Sonin, the author of the articles about Mr. Rasputin published in *Rech*, appeared in *Yuzhnaya Zarya*:
“Your Grace! I was in the village of Pokrovskoye at Grishka Rasputin’s in 1900. He lured me there to show off his lifestyle. It was Lent. There were no festivities, no revelry, and no ladies. I spent my time doing nothing but spying. Then I left for Pokrovskoye. When the time comes, I will tell the world that I witnessed such terrible things that it sends a chill down my spine. I did not speak of this before because I was afraid of Rasputin. Now the time has come, and I will speak out loud. What was written about the Jews’ “perch” is true. It was said in jest. In general, I sincerely thank you for taking part in exposing the nature of the activities of this criminal corrupter of human souls and bodies. Everything you wrote in *Rech* is true, but it is a small truth, not a terrible one. I will reveal the terrible truth—the great truth—if only I survive. May God save you for what you have written. The noble hieromonk Iliodor.”
