"Mint" House

Anton Bondarev recently published an article about Vladislav Frankovsky’s house, which, unfortunately, has not survived.

The location where it used to be is now occupied by the tire shop shown in the photo below.

However, the neighboring building at Frankivska Street, 5 survived. It was built in 1911 for the family of Lesnikov, Provincial Secretary, based on a design by Pavel Shirsov.

It adds a touch of old-world charm and atmosphere to this corner of Oboronnyi Val Square and the beginning of Frankivska Street.

The house had been painted green, but the paint had long since faded.

The building recently underwent minor exterior repairs and a fresh coat of paint.
