Poetry was used much more frequently in Kharkiv advertising in the past than it is now.
They praised tobacco, cigarettes, shoes, and even soap in verse.
The number of advertisements featuring poetic copy is so great that one might assume there were poets who specialized professionally in writing advertising copy.
