At Yuliia Chyhyryna Street, 8 (formerly known as Dvoryanskaya Street), you can see a beautiful gray Art Nouveau building.

Elena Melgunova’s apartment building was designed by architect Oleksandr Rzhepishevskyi and built in 1914.

The building has retained many of its original features, such as the window frames in the entranceway, the wooden staircase steps, and the apartment entrance doors typical of the Rzhepishevskyi style.

The bas-reliefs featuring cherubs have lost their detail due to numerous layers of whitewash

On the ground floor, you’ll notice an interesting detail—a beautiful bracket that was most likely intended to hold a light fixture.

The skylight on the top floor has already been painted over and is no longer used for its intended purpose.
