The old clinic at Moskalivska Street, 55 was too small and unsuitable for medical use. The building at Moskalivska has been extensively remodeled, and there is no trace left of its once-beautiful facade and roof lanterns.

An interesting fact: originally, in 1910, the street was named after Taras Shevchenko and bore his name until 1936, when it was renamed Pravdy Street. It became Olesya Honchara Street in 1996.

In 1912, a new Art Nouveau building was constructed for the Hirschman Eye Hospital, designed by architect Leo Terven.

In 2009, a monument to Hirschman (by sculptor A. N. Demchenko) was erected at the hospital. The sculpture depicts the doctor himself and a young girl, a patient who had regained her sight.

The building of Kharkiv City Ophthalmological Clinical Hospital No. 14 sustained damage to its windows as a result of Russian missile strikes in 2022 and 2026.
