Case vehicles in Kharkiv

In today’s Kharkiv, buying a car is no problem—provided you have the funds. Numerous dealerships representing various brands offer a wide selection to suit every taste.

However, if you happened to find yourself in Kharkiv in 1914, where would you go to buy a car? In the *Kharkiv Calendar* of that time, we can find an interesting car advertisement.

You could easily have purchased a car from V.O. Koch, a representative of the “Case” company, at 2 Universitetskaya Street. The advertisement stated:

“There are no cars more durable or better than Case.” Case vehicles are known for their durability and quiet operation and are also designed to handle even the roughest dirt roads. Fuel consumption is minimal.

At that time, the roads in the Kharkiv Governorate were indeed poor and unpaved. This, along with minimal fuel consumption, was likely a decisive factor for Kharkiv residents when purchasing a car that was by no means cheap.
