In 1909, the lot at the corner of what were then Eparchial and Veterinary Streets belonged to a middle-class couple—Appolinariy Maksimilianovich Stashinsky and Elizaveta Pavlovna.

The eclectic-style building was constructed approximately at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, although the exact years and the architect are unknown.

A home’s yard can also be beautiful, but for us, it serves purely utilitarian purposes, and no one even thinks about its aesthetic value anymore, let alone gives it any consideration.
