Every city should have its own “Pantheon”. It seems that architect Z. Permilovsky drew inspiration from this magnificent Roman structure when designing the ticket booth for the “Metalist” Stadium in 1926.

The only thing missing is the oculus, but the dome’s apex—made of monolithic reinforced concrete—is crowned by a sculpture of a Discobolus by Matvey Manizer (the same artist who created the Shevchenko monument).

Unfortunately, there are plans to remove this pavilion from the list of architectural landmarks, despite the excellent restoration work (designed by architect Ekaterina Kublitskaya).
