Postponement of Cases. Yesterday, the Kharkiv District Court, with a jury present, was scheduled to hear cases against Serich and Kadnichansky on charges of sodomy, and against Serich and Ivakhnenko on charges of robbery. The warden of the Kharkiv district prison informed the court that on February 9, Serichi had been transported to the Vyatka Governorate as part of a penal convoy for exile. The court ruled, in accordance with a motion by the assistant prosecutor regarding the improper actions of the prison administration—which was aware of the upcoming trials yet still deported Serichi—to bring this matter to the attention of the district court prosecutor.
Diplomatic News. Our ambassador to Sweden, Krupensky, will be appointed ambassador to Rome.
Departure. Yesterday, N. S. Avdakov and N. F. von Ditmar left Kharkiv for St. Petersburg to participate in a special interagency meeting on the issue of reducing the tariff for coal transported from the Donetsk Basin to the Baltic and St. Petersburg regions.
St. Petersburg, 6th. Award. Senior Adjutant Sukhin of the Kharkiv Local Brigade Commander’s Office was awarded the Order of St. Anne, 3rd Class.
Presentation of an album. Land-management officials in Kharkiv Province presented P. A. Golubnichenko, the authorized representative of the Committee on Land Management, with an album whose silver covers were decorated with an engraved map of the Kharkiv Governorate, a view of a farmstead on a separately demarcated plot, and other images.

On the tram. Yesterday, around 3:00 p.m., an axle broke on tram No. 55 as it was traveling along Klochkovskaya Street. Repair crews were dispatched to the line and began work at 4:00 p.m. The damaged parts of the car were replaced with new ones, and around 6:00 p.m., the repaired car was sent to the depot. Service on the line continued with transfers while the car was being repaired.
A Tribute to Balmont.
The Committee of the Society of Modern Philology at the Imperial University of St. Petersburg is organizing a public meeting of the society to mark the twentieth anniversary of K. D. Balmont’s literary career.
The meeting will take place on March 11 in the hall of the St. Petersburg Provincial Zemstvo Council.

Anti-Jewish Pogrom. Reports from Vienna indicate that an anti-Jewish pogrom was carried out by immigrants from Bessarabia at the Bulgarian-Turkish border station of Kyustendil. Two hundred Jewish families were affected. The pogrom was quelled by the police. The government is providing assistance to the victims.

Military caps. The Ministry of War’s warehouses contain a significant number of surplus sheepskin caps. Following a request from the Quartermaster’s Office, the Police Department proposed that the governor be asked whether it would be desirable to purchase these caps for the lower ranks of the Kharkiv Governorate police.

A New Star. According to the “N. Vr.” society, the Pulkovo Observatory received a telegram announcing that Norwegian astronomer Enebo had discovered a new star near the star Theta in the constellation Gemini.
