In the Kharkiv Metro, you can see traces of geological eras long past. For example, the shell of an ammonite, dating back about 400 million years, can be found in the marble trim at the “Architect Beketov” Metro Station.

Similar fossils from various species of the Paleozoic Era can also be found in the marble at the “Akademika Barabashova”, “Central Market,” and “Historical Museum” metro stations.
