In the building located at Kontorska Street, 12 the metal staircase that extends up to the 4th floor is particularly memorable.

It seems to hang in the air, supported by crossbeams or support brackets.

Large windows enhance the feeling of spaciousness.



According to information in S. Schwartz’s book *A Journey to the Provincial Capital*, the house was built in 1873 at the request of merchant Vasily Pashchenko-Tryapkin to be rented out. However, no confirmation of this information has yet been found in other sources.
