Morphological building of the medical institute

The morphological building of the medical institute is one of the last works of the architect Viktor Estrovich, who specialized in medical buildings.

The building, constructed in 1939, was severely damaged during World War II and reconstructed in 1952 by architect Orekhov in the Socialist Classicism style. It now houses Kharkiv National Medical University (Nauky Avenue, 4).

Architect Estrovich presumably died in Drobitsky Yar along with thousands of other Kharkov Jews who were shot in early 1942.
