This house at Moskalivska Street is a real Art Noeuveau gem of the neighborhood.

The building was presumably designed by architect M. Dashkevich and constructed in 1903. According to the 1901 list of property owners, the owner of the lot was Vasily Vasilyevich Vasilyev, a peasant; in 1909, the owner was Mikhail Alekseyevich Kokin, a townsman.

The facade of this house was recently renovated, and its color changed from beige to light blue.

It’s nice to see that some of the original windows have been preserved in the house.

The same can’t be said for the house’s doors, and the glassed-in balcony also spoils the faacade.

Overall, the building’s facade has long needed a full-scale restoration; numerous repairs carried out on a limited budget have only served to “erode” its details.
