The 2nd City Hospital was built according to a design by architect Viktor Estrovich between 1925 and 1927.

It was originally called the 3rd Workers’ Clinic, as can be seen from the letters still visible on the facade.

Viktor Estrovich left the city with many remarkable buildings in the Art Nouveau and Constructivist styles, including both apartment buildings and medical facilities. The clinic, however, leaned more toward the features of Neoclassicism and the future Socialist classicism style.

This building, constructed in the 1920s, during the Soviet era, still features Bergenheim tiles bearing marks with pre-revolutionary spelling; piles of these same broken tiles can be found in the courtyard.

In the hospital’s main lobby, you can see murals depicting famous doctors.

The bank building, designed by Viktor Estrovich, has also been preserved in the very heart of Dnipro

As a result of the bombing of Kharkiv by Russian forces in March 2022, the building lost many of its windows. The complex’s historic outbuildings were also damaged with Russian bomb on October 14, 2025.
