The apartment building at Heroes of Kharkiv Avenue, 41 is notable for its narrow, steep, green staircase leading to the service staircase, where two people can barely pass each other.

There is evidence that the house was built in 1913 according to a design by architect Ilyodor Zagoskin for Y. G. Skvortsov.

In the 1909 list of property owners, the lot at Staromoskovskaya Street, 11 (as it was previously addressed) is listed under the name of Tatyana Ivanovna Skvortsova, the widow of a townsperson.

It is possible that Y.G. Skvortsov was the son of Tatyana Ivanovna.

The house is also notable for its sculptures by Jacobs (a lion and a carved wooden mascaron above the door).

An inscription in pre-revolutionary spelling, “For letters and newspapers,” on the door slot.

The Soviet-era graffiti (“Kharkiv Products—Excellent Quality”) has been updated recently, and the headlights on the KhTZ tractor are now lit up at night.

The building was damaged by a Russian missile strike on Heroiv Nebesnoi Sotni Square in March 2022 and lost some of its windows.
