The water utility building was one of the few pre-revolutionary buildings to survive on the even-numbered side of Shevchenko Street (No. 2).

It didn’t look particularly attractive, with a small structure attached to the balcony, windows fitted with roller shades, air conditioners on the facade, and an advertising banner.

Nevertheless, it was possible to easily clean all of this up and restore the building to its original appearance without incurring significant costs.

On July 3, 2022, the building was severely damaged by a Russian missile strike.
